This is not a donation appeal, we’re coming to you with a humanitarian update of the situation in Palestine.

On Sunday, July 27, a daily “tactical pause” was announced, allowing humanitarian openings in southern Gaza and the Kerem Shalom crossing for aid Gaza..

However, these openings depend entirely on the humanitarian pause holding—any shift can immediately change the situation.

As much as the media is saying the borders are open, aid is not flowing right in, and remains limited. Hundreds of trucks are blocked for example, and many others await clearance from Jordan or the West Bank route.

Without security and functioning local law enforcement, aid trucks are often stripped before reaching warehouses or distribution points.
Delivering aid in Gaza isn't always so straightforward — it's often slow and unpredictable given current circumstances.

Only a handful of humanitarian organizations have pre-clearance to bring supplies in.

Our concern in the humanitarian sector is that these aid openings won’t last very long and are not adequate. The need in Gaza is overwhelming. Everyone in Gaza is facing starvation, and you have seen from the images and videos, the situation is dire. Babies, children, men and women are dying slowly.

As one aid worker described, you can smell death everywhere you go in Gaza.

Our goal, similar to all of yours, is to provide food to the people of Gaza as soon as possible. We are in continue conversations with our partners to develop ways we can advocate for better access and speedy delivery, and push for more aid to be delivered in Gaza.

We know you as our donors and supporters deserve transparency, and although we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to deliver aid through the borders during these pauses, we can guarantee that we will continue to work hard to reach the people of Gaza.

We have an ask for you today, please share our message, educate others and spread the word. Your representatives are home from DC, now’s the time to act. Call their district office and let them know you want a full ceasefire on Gaza and demand the free flow of humanitarian aid today.

Let’s continue to push for safety, security and dignity for our brothers and sisters in Gaza, and for those delivering much needed aid in Gaza.
