Fixing Low Power 2002-2006 Audi A4 (COV Actuator) Replacement | Intake Link Arms OEM Part

Today we are fixing a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro 3.0 that had low power throughout it's RPM range.

Many Audi's came equipped with a variable intake manifold that would change it's length depending on the rpm the engine was at. When the intake actuator arm breaks, this causes the engine to be stuck at a specific intake length, which would be optimized for only low, or high rpms.

The actuator arms (from Audi part number: 06C133611 assembly) are powered by vacuum, using a diaphragm and solenoid to engage depending on the RPM.

You can purchase a new full assembly of OEM part number 06C133611 at various places online such as:

But, these full assemblies of the intake actuator are very expensive, often at over $500 per assembly at the making of this video!

We found a company called Gruven Auto Parts, which manufacturers JUST the actuator arms from the full assembly of audi part number 06C133611.
