After action for the Mammoth Sniper Challenge held at Fort Pickett in January 2026. It was a wet one.

Unfortunately my partner and I did not complete the challenge this year, we voluntarily withdrew from the match on Saturday. This video quickly goes back through some the gear I took and how everything performed.

These are my experiences with my gear, your opinions of gear with your own experiences will differ.

There are plenty of things I would change looking back now, mostly adding better wet weather gear and swapping synthetics for wool to keep warm even when wet. I utilized most of the same gear from the 2025 match but did reevaluate some gear for this match to try and get my pack weight as low as possible without sacrificing performance. My pack weighed about 52 lbs at step off after removing all my cold weather gear.
