The original track is played by Nina Simone on piano, Jimmy Bond on bass, and Tootie Heath on drums.
It's amazing to hear what the 24 year old Nina Simone did with this piece, originally penned by Rodgers/Hamerstein. In this arrangement she shows her classical trained piano skills and her improvisation talent as well: this is in a minor, but on the live recording ''at the Village Gate'' in 1961 she plays this classical orientated piece in b flat minor.
