This restoration was a long time in the making.
I had so many issues trying to Nickel the cast metal and discovered it helps to first Copper plate each piece first. This seemed to go ok at first but one of the pieces just wouldn't take the copper plating.
I spent so many days and more time than I am willing to admit working on just that one piece.
It almost got the better of me and I was ready to call it quits and start something new.
I tried everything I could think of and even replacing my copper solution. In the end I spent about 3 hours cleaning it down with Brake Cleaner and cotton Buds and on the 13th attempt it worked.

This Plough Plane once belonged to my Grandfather. I never had the opportunity to see it in action as I only ever watched him use a router. I am very appreciative that I was given this tool and although I will probably never use it I am so pleased I have given it a fresh life.
