Описание к видео Can we repair injured nerves? | Massimo Hilliard | TEDxUQ

Massimo Hilliard received his PhD in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Biology in 2001 from the University of Naples, Italy. Following his postdoctoral training in 2007, he was appointed as a Senior Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute. Here he established his independent laboratory that focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate neuronal development, maintenance, and repair. His laboratory has made a number of key discoveries, which have been published in top tier journals, including Nature and Science. Associate Professor Hilliard will discuss recent research developments in axonal repair and how these can contribute to medical advancements, specifically in the context of spinal cord injuries. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
