Alpstein in Appenzell is the most complete alpine experience in a condensed area you can find in Switzerland. You can of course find better versions of each aspect in other areas but then you won't get it all! When I have friends visiting only a couple of days this is an easy go-to so they can get a full Swiss alp experience in only a day!

There are areas in Alpstein which you can and up in by mistake where an inexperienced hiker shouldn't go. If you are not comfortable with what you see in the video you should find another part of Alpstein which suits you!
