Dozen F22 fighter jets stop in UK en route to Middle East 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 ✈️

Twelve F-22 Raptors of the US Air Force stop in the UK while en route to the Middle East amongst rising tensions. The fighter jets will be deployed along with various other US government assets in the region.

Twelve F-22 Raptor Advanced Tactical Fighters from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska stopped at RAF Lakenheath on Tuesday, 6th August. The air superiority fighter jets are being deployed to the Middle East as part of the US government's response to rising tensions in the region. A Carrier Strike Group, an Amphibious Ready Group, other aircraft and assets are also being deployed.

Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts, passers-by and families gathered by RAF Lakenheath on the Suffolk/Norfolk border in the UK to watch the 5th generation fighter planes arrive. The aircraft made it in between 1900 and 2100 just before sunset after a long journey from Alaska. The deployment is being supported by KC-46 Pegasus fuel tankers and C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft.
