This is a very common issue on the mx5s which leads to water leaking into the footwells and making the carpets wet.

You can replace the parts but overtime will perish again so I’ve found sealing it with silicone to be a good option. This ensures it’s water tight around the edges.

Other issues can be the drain holes are blocked, this is a simple fix by clearing out the drain holes with a trombone cleaner.
