This is a compilation of news clips from the famous 1985 Virginia Slims of Florida in Key Biscayne, where Chris Evert defeated Martina Navratilova in straight sets, first victory over Martina since Australian 1982. Lots of top players here, including a young Steffi Graf.
As there were problems mid-80's with tobacco advertising, lots of Slims events were not televised on National TV.. These news clips from local stations are all that remains from most Virginia Slims Series from 83 to 86.
