These can take samples in a wide range of shapes and sizes and there are a variety of spatulas and forceps, or tweezers, to handle these.
Everyone develops their own preference and technique
Here we see the use of an angled micro spatula - very useful for transferring small powder samples into small capsules. A left-handed version is also available.
The angled forceps are also a practical tool for closing the capsules.
For larger samples a micro spoon is more practical.
