2 Connecticut laws in question:Any person who uses anything for purpose of preventing conception shall be fined not less than $50, or imprisoned not less than 60 daysAny person who assists, abets, counsels, causes, hires or commands another to commit any offense may be prosecuted and punished as if he were the principle offenderAppellants (found guilty as “accessories” for giving instruction to married women for contraception, & fined $100), brought suit against Connecticut, alleging the statutes violated the 14th amendment.
