As a kid, who once lived at christianburg, this view of the waterwheel was hardly noticed.
Still exist and still standing there firmly, in the same condition as I left it 50 years back. There, on the right side, looking toward the river, used to be a building, the courthouse as I can remember, yellow painted.
Surprisingly, it is gone.

The Christianburg Waterwheel located on Burnham Drive, Christianburg, Linden, was installed as part of a hydro-powered sawmill on the plantation sometime during the latter half of the 1800s. This hydro-powered sawmill was needed to improve the production of logs and reducing the cost associated with it. The waterwheel is regarded as one of the earliest engineering structures to be built in the town.

The Alumina Plant at the time of its construction was considered the largest and most expensive superstructure to be undertaken in British Guiana. It was built by the Demerara Bauxite Company (DEMBA) and is located at Spieghtland, (on Republic Avenue) Mackenzie, Linden.
