Applying Fabric with Running Stitch

For the second week of my Stitch Journal I was really inspired by the colours in my old paint cloths. By applying the fabric pieces to your base cloth with running stitches it's possible to achieve beautiful results. So I've just torn the cloth up so I can apply it to my base.
Use other pieces you might have around instead...little precious bits of lace, vintage fabrics or just some pretty scraps left over from one thing or another. This will just let you start and think about how the cloth and stitching can come together to create a pleasing whole.
