A Bogstandard Displacement Lubricator

Описание к видео A Bogstandard Displacement Lubricator

Constructed by and Generously provided to me by Mr. Bogstandard of the Unofficial Mamod And Other Steam Forum.

I did not explain it in the audio, but here's the principal behind its function: Some of the (wet) steam from the boiler passes into the lubricator through a tiny pinhole on top of the feed line (you will see it). The steam condenses in the lubricator, as it is meant to. The water then settles towards the bottom of the device and displaces the oil upwards, which drips into the pipe and finds its way down into the cylinder. To work properly and efficiently the lubricator must be relatively cooler than the steam line, which is why it is hung off to the side, and also why it has cooling fins machined into it.

It's a lovely bit of work, well suited to the Jensen 20, and I think you'll agree that it's much finer than my own efforts that you will see / have seen in earlier videos.
