This is the first of our three part review of three Jamaican Beef Patty shops we visited when vacationing in the Toronto Canada suburb of Markham.

We tried George's Tastee Patty during the Thanksgiving weekend. Unfortunately, many other Patty Shops were closed that weekend.

George's had a good amount of meaty filling, and a good spice mix for their regular patty. Very nice crust that was tender and flaky, but still firm enough to eat on the run. I know I shouldn't eat in the car, but I cannot resist a hot, savory Jamaican Beef Patty when it's sitting next to me in the car!

George's has an interesting pricing structure with a fresh, hot out of the oven patty being the most expensive. Room temperature patties are a few cents cheaper and frozen paties being the cheapest.

The staff are always friendly and ready to explain some of the other Jamaican menu items for those unfamiliar with the cuisine. The store is super clean, but we visited their factory headquarters which did not have dine-in seating. Just a little Jamaican convenience store in the front.

We'll bring a box of frozen patties home on our next trip! Bring a cooler (with cold packs if you can) and you can keep them safely chilled by the time you reach home, even after a nine hour car trip.
