By 2021, digital transformation is expected to add USD 8 billion to the Philippines’s GDP and increase its growth rate by 0.4% annually. The IDC predicts that by 2021, 40% of large enterprises in the Philippines will strengthen competitiveness and create new sources of revenue by performing data management or data monetisation. Meanwhile, the country’s internet economy is projected to grow to from USD 8 billion to USD 25 billion in 2025, with areas like e-commerce, ride-hailing and online media witnessing rapid expansion. COVID-19 has further accelerated the adoption of digital tools and platforms.

Rising concerns over cybersecurity have accompanied the growth in the digital economy and corporate digitalisation.
