Introducing Adrian Broom, dad of two and founder and director of SAFEsnap, the app that is finally addressing a huge public safety issue here in South Africa.

Adrian has years of experience in running events companies and so he’s seen first-hand how dangerous public spaces can be. When he and his wife temporarily lost their two children in a shop (you’ve been there, right?), it was the last straw and Adrian was spurred into action.

This dad has launched an app designed to help children and vulnerable adults. One of the ways SAFEsnap does this is by linking seamlessly to emergency and security services. We all know these services are crucial in moments where every second counts. But more important than that is being able to access them straight away, right?

In this video, Adrian talks about how child abductions and sudden health emergencies are the stuff of nightmares. As he says, “A lot of people feel so vulnerable and so useless” in these types of situations; and “they actually don’t know what to do.”
