Here we explore the Panama Canal and learn the history of this feat of engineering. We explore the unique rainforests of the area as one of the most biodiverse places on earth and wander through the historic colonial part of the city known as Casco viejo. Arrival Panama City 1:03

We arrive into Panama City late afternoon and check out parts of the historic Casco viejo region.

Panama Canal & Monkey island 2:07

We depart Panama City for the world famous Panama Canal where we learn about the building of this historic and important engineering feat of the 20th century. Also the man made creation of Gatun Lake to support the canal. We explore the islands teaming with wildlife along the Chagras River and Gatun Lake including Capuchin Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Geoffroys Tamarin, Jesus lizards, crocodiles and abundant birdlife including the majestic Tiger Heron.

Soberania National Park 7:55

We head out to the rainforest that borders the canal known as Soberania National Park. This is one of the most biodiverse places on earth, the meeting of 2 continents. Here we view trees and plants from both continents, learn the secrets of the woodcutter ants and spot a brown 3 toed sloth up in the trees.

Casco Viejo 15:08

We wander the old part of town with its colonial heritage and ruins. We visit an amazing brewery and rooftop bar with friends met on our tour. The following day we head to the Mercado Mariscos (seafood market) and sample some delicious views. Taking in views of the Cinta Costera and the Bridge of the Americas where the 2 continents join.
