Caste System / Discrimination is very much there in India before Britishers or any other invader arrived. For this we have given evidence from Hindu scriptures which are written before any invasion happened.

Caste / Varna is Not Changeable in this life and is by Birth and is based on result of Karma did in past life.

Max Muller Translations are of not his own.

Dwija means second birth is only by upanayana ceremony and is available for only 3 Varnas and Shudra is excluded from this.
