'Caribbean Catch-Up: Will and Kate in the Bahamas'

On their first full day, Will and Kate braved torrential downpours to visit a local Primary School in the Bahamian capital of Nassau.

After a toe-tapping performance from the students, Kate addressed the school in a speech.

The deluge didn’t dampen the carnival atmosphere as the couple watched a traditional Junkanoo parade, and crowds came out to catch a glimpse of the Royals.

The competitive couple braved the elements again and boarded competing yachts in Montagu Bay. They raced on the choppy water at the Bahamas Platinum Jubilee Sailing Regatta.

That evening, the Duke spoke at a glittering state reception.

On their second full day, Will and Kate visited the islands still rebuilding following the 2019 Hurricane Dorian. Wind gusts of up to 230mph hit the islands, making it the worst hurricane the Bahamas has ever seen.

The pair stopped for a bite to eat at a Fish Fry - a quintessentially Bahamian spot. Kate tried the local delicacy - a ‘conch pistol’, which is said to have the same effect as viagra.

This jam-packed final day of engagements saw the couple visit Grand Bahama Children’s Home, and meet with Earthshot Prize winners in the final engagement of the Royal Caribbean tour.

For their departure, the Duchess wore this total showstopper. A buttercup yellow, 80s-inspired dress complete with a sophisticated button-down design and exaggerated puffed sleeves.
