HP Retailer Education Series - Wireless Audio Technology

Описание к видео HP Retailer Education Series - Wireless Audio Technology

This video is part of a series aimed at educating retail employees about the technologies of HP Notebook computers. The partners at Transport, where I worked as an editor, commissioned a script from another local writer that took an overly absurdist angle with people in mascot costumes etc. that fell flat with both them and the client.

Close to deadline and needing to deliver an alternate concept, I approached them with the idea of treating them like educational films from the 50s and 60s as I thought the generational juxtaposition would add some charm to a potentially dry topic. They loved it so much that they asked if I'd likewise be interested in writing the scripts, an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

I dove deep into the lexicon of the era and married that with the technological breakdown of the different concepts the team at HP wanted to portray. At the center is a family who, along with the audience, gets to experience the features and benefits for the first time. The avatar of the company is an HP engineer that introduces the various devices/technologies.

Initially conceived of as a 3 video series, it was twice renewed based upon the success of the initial offering. In addition to conceptualizing & script writing, I assistant directed the shoots, edited the live action elements to pair with the top shelf motion graphics and 3D animations created by Brandon Schoessler & Josh Spivey respectively. I then color graded and stylized the look with grain to make it feel authentic to the educational film format. The voiceover and sound design were recorded and done at DigOne.
