Undiagnosed Patellar Tendon Tear | Friday's @ RP 021

Dr. Drew Timmermans, ND, discusses some treatment procedures for patients who have been suffering from chronic pain, and a stellate ganglion block for a patient with stress-induced hyperglycemia.

As for the first procedure, we performed a stellate ganglion block on a patient diagnosed with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. We injected a local anesthetic around the stellate ganglion and cervical sympathetic chain, with the hopes of reducing this patient’s stress-induced high blood sugar.
We also administered PRP injections with a placental matrix product to a patient with thoracic and low back pain due to a previous skiing injury. Furthermore, Dr. Timmermans talks about the significance of pain recreation during procedures. Lastly, another patient with low back, knee, and ankle pain was also treated with PRP to address his low back, knee, and ankle pain. During the procedure, Dr. Timmermans visualized a tear in the patient’s patellar tendon, which was also treated with PRP.
