That actor Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmen in the show, had a rigorous culinary training schedule before filming even took place? FX’s The Bear has been one of the breakout hits of 2022 and its star Jeremy Allen White, who plays the main character of Carmen, can be seen cooking up a storm in an effort to revitalize the fortunes of his deceased brother’s Chicago sandwich shop. However, Allen White was not that experienced a chef before playing Carmen in the show, and so, prior to filming, spent two weeks in cooking school before training in several Michelin star-rated restaurants to prepare. So, rather than getting a cooking double in to substitute for White during the cooking scenes, the camera follows the actor as he makes all the dishes viewers can see being prepared in the show.
