Affirmative form:
In the 90's I WAS a student in the 90's.
Last week my neighbors WERE away on holiday.

Negative form:
-I WASN'T late.
-They WEREN'T here yesterday.

Questions:
-WAS it rainy yesterday? Yes, it was.| No, it wasn't.
WERE the exams results excellent? Yes, they were.| No, they weren't.
How WERE the exams results? They were excellent.
