1.7 lakh-crore relief package for poor & migrant workers: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Thursday announced a slew of economic measures taken by the Central government to deal with the coronavirus pandemic and help & support the people during the 21 day national lockdown. Sitharaman said the Central government has asked state governments to fund Rs31,000 crore for medical testing, screening and relief. The Finance Minister also announced Rs 1.70 lakh-crore package under PM Garib Kalyan scheme which is expected to benefit 80 crore people, including the poor and migrant workers.
