Mosca Campground is located in San Luis State Wildlife Area near the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The former state park changed to a state wildlife area in 2017, changing the rules for Mosca Campground. Electrical hookups are still functional and are free to use. Reservations are not accepted.
The wildlife area north of the campground is closed from Feb. 15 until July 15

Mosca Campground Info
Elevation: 7510 ft
Fee per Night: Free access to State Wildlife Areas if you have a Colorado Fishing or Hunting License. Otherwise, a $36 pass is required for anyone ages 18-64
Total Campsites: 51
Reservations are not accepted
Cell Service: Yes. Both AT&T & Verizon
14 day limit within a 45 day period
Open - Year Round, although it appears that some loops are closed off during the slower season. Loop B was closed for our April visit
RV Info
Max RV Length - This campground can handle all sizes
RV dump station located near the campground was covered in April 2019. Not sure if it opens in the summer.

Activities
Non-motorized boating on San Luis Lake
Biking & Hiking on 4 miles of gravel trail within the wildlife area. Note the area north of the campground is closed from Feb. 15 until July 15 for wildlife nesting season
Hiking in Great Sand Dunes National Park

Wildlife Viewing - The wetlands of the San Luis Valley are home to nearly 200 species of wildlife for all or part of the year.
