The following film was made and released on Earth Day 2020 to urge legislators to sign the Clean Air Law in Albany County. The world's largest cement corporation, LafargeHolcim, operates a huge cement kiln next to a high school in the Town of Coeymans, near Ravena in Albany County, New York, USA. For many toxic chemicals, they're the largest air polluter in the state of New York, even after a major "modernization" of the plant in 2017, as required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency due to years of air pollution violations. They sought to start burning trash from 70 Connecticut towns in late 2017, but Energy Justice Network notified the local governments, who came out in opposition and the local uproar had the company quickly back down from this plan. Lafarge then pushed hard to start burning millions of tires per year at their plant. The Town of Coeymans hired Energy Justice Network to draft a Clean Air Law that bans large-scale waste burning in the town, and passed that law in March 2019. In late 2019, a slate of Republicans opposed to the Clean Air Law took over the town in the election and say they will not enforce the law. Albany County residents worked to get a county-wide Clean Air Law passed to address this and other industrial waste burning in the county. It passed in September 2020 but this didn't stop the Town of Coeymans elected officials. On November 23, 2020, the Coeymans Town Board unanimously passed amendments to the Town’s Clean Air Law four days after only one public hearing. These amendments stripped the strong pollution protections in the law and paved the way for any business to burn massive amounts of tires and waste.

As a result, the Town of Coeymans is now the only town within the County of Albany where hazardous waste and tires can be burned in spite of the Albany County Clean Air Law. Since the amendments to the Coeymans Clean Air law went into effect immediately, Lafarge/Holcim can now add the burning of tires to the coal it is already burning in the town.
