Remember that shy little girl that was always so afraid, she never wanted attention nor anyone to know her name.

She was always pushed around and unappreciated, but she would just let it happen because life's complicated.

She forced herself to be quiet, her only intention was fitting in; so she would be that nice good girl, yet be hiding so much within.

She was always there for others and put everyone else first, afraid to let everyone down, but she felt so coerced.

She knew she was trapped in an unhealthy cycle, and she had to act quick cause her endgame was survival.

But she felt confined with no way out, if only she had known all she had to do was not doubt.

Not doubt herself and what she was capable of, not doubt the people in her life that she loved.

Not doubt that her future would be nothing but bright and despite the dark nights, there would always be daylight.

I remember that little girl, and looking back at her now I realize that one of life's greatest gifts is growth.

There is still so much I have yet to learn, and to those whom this may concern, I assure you that no matter the situation, life can always make a U - turn.

I can safely say that I've broken out of my shell, despite every now and again returning to that mysterious well.

I'm not perfect, nobody is, but growing up in everyway has taught me that you have to take it day by day.

There are times I forget who I am or what I want, for the benfefit of others who only care enough to flaunt.

You've put so much time and effort into making others happy, that you forget to love yourself, although it sounds sappy.

You're growing up now, and that won't stop, so enjoy the ride and give yourself what you deserve, even if its just a drop.

Because someday soon, you will realize that you deserve something greater than Earth, the moon.

I know it's scary to look back at the past and stare into the future, but focus on the now, because you're growing up and no matter what happens you'll get there somehow.
