Located in the northernmost part of India, Jammu city serves as the winter capital of the state and is the starting point for many spiritual journeys, including the Vaishno Devi Yatra. I was in the state of Jammu & Kashmir for the same, visiting Vaishno Devi during Chaitra Navratra 2025. And I took a day trip from Katra to Jammu to explore some of the most revered spots in the city, like Bawe Wali Mata Mahakali Temple, Shri Raghunath Temple and Shri Ranbireshwar Temple. But, Jammu has a lot more to offer, other than spiritual sites.
A visit to the majestic Bagh-E-Bahu Gardens located near Jammu Tawi River and the historic Amar Mahal Museum gives a glimpse into the rich history & culture of the city. Shopping at the buzzing Raghunath Bazar, relishing iconic sweets & chaat at Pahalwan’s and maggi with a pretty view are some of the must-do things in this city.
