To honour the 76th Independence Day, Udgamites presented a fantastic series of performances at school.
The program began with the school prayer, after which Miss Nitya Kaka, the Chief Guest for the Day and the School Topper in XII CBSE Exams this year, hoisted the Flag in the honourable presence of the Director, Ms Radhika Iyer, Dr. G Vijayalakshmi & Ms Dhanya Ramachandran, Principals of Morning Shift & Noon Shift respectively, as well as the HR Manager, Ms Krutika Mehta.
Dr G Vijayalakshmi, Principal (MS), delivered the pledge after the Music Teachers played the National Anthem.
Udgamites sang Patriotic Songs and played instruments, performed Nukkad Natak on Mera Bharat Meri Pehchan, and danced to various Patriotic Songs & Medleys, including jughalbandi on Kathak & Bharatnatyam.
The celebration got concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ms Dhanya Ramachandran, Principal (NS) and Vande Matram sung beautifully by the Music Teachers.
In addition to this celebration, Udgamites also got dressed as national heroes and leaders in the 'Patriotic Costume Activity' and dedicated their performances to all the great Indian patriots. They enacted as famous freedom fighters and presented their dialogues. It was amazing to watch the students manifest their true colors of patriotism. The purpose of this activity was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them an opportunity to speak in front of the audience.
Moreover, in the Mile Sur Mera Tumhara Activity, Udgamites got dressed in traditional dresses from different states, and sang the song, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara. The activity conducted was one of the best examples of Integrated Learning. The aim of the event was remarkably apparent as the students briefed about the people, clothing, food, dances, languages, and popularity of that state. It was indeed a treat for all who participated. All the faculties were spellbound by the group performances of the students.
To promote the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, students were also made to colour the Tirangas in their drawing classes.
