How off Earth is this one hit wonder classic No.1 46yo!!!! Back when Pup was a weee Pup! And fell in love with the track! While living in Cornwall, after moving from Lands End to a lovely lil town just by Mousehole. The song fitted for the traditional feel of the area and times... and a year later we moved to Bahrain! A small Arabic island country... now that was rather different, and excellent!!! In the crazy life of Pup!

Well art lovers! The slideshow to this just had to be mainly of Lowry paintings... And even as a lil Pup this song gave me an interest in art... which pretty much finished there too lol!!

To make this a proper length extended version, parts from two cover versions where needed... and also isolated sounds (instrumental/vocal) did anyone notice another version here that I removed last year... WTFrak? Somehow Audacity has removed chunks (put silence) in parts of the song, inc one side of stereo channels... But I assumed it was OK! So I kinda started again with this version, and it's actually shorter! As 16mins.... it did feel rather too repetitive.

Hope ya like it!! And now PUPNRC has maybe 100x the followers of when this was first uploaded... Hopefully after a couple of years this version will have over 40views hahahaha!!

Actually my best mate at the time of this song... my mum tried to ban us from being mates, and ban me from even crossing the road to the council estate he lived in. It was run down, they were poor people, not quite as this song goes, but this song makes me fondly remember Stuart and his lovely family, which oddly enough after moving to Bahrain, my best mate my mum tried to ban me from being friends with there.. was called Coo-wert... as pronounced! From Danish Kurt... As for Stuart and his family, they really were lovely! So warm, friendly and kind... someone could have learnt a lot from them. Many, many years later on holiday in that area of Cornwall, I found their house, enquired, and though Stuart had moved away years before... his family welcomed me with open arms. I come from a rather wealthy family (not me, I have bugger all lol) But have generally found friends from poorer lives and their families were the nicest! Their homes the cosiest! As one Guy I knew... whom mother tried to stop me from seeing... I always felt more at home at theirs than my own home... unless we were hidden away in our room... I had to sneak him in! As mother had banned him.. why? ....Hey it's Saturday night!! Drinkies!!! HAHAHAH!!!! Wot was this post about again? Is this Facebook?

Oh! 'Matchstalk' is not a real word, and Google explains the use of the word in this song wrongly, as from the mouth of the writer of the lyrics... one of them two, he explained he thought matchstalk was the plural of matchstick, so it was a mistake that they chose to keep, as it sounds nice... and I think it does.
