Oklahoma, State Superintendant of Schools Ryan Walters says kids can learn about the Tulsa Race Massacre. But without teaching the killing of hundreds as motivated by race.

During Thursday's open forum in Norman, the conservative Republican was questioned how teaching about the 1921 murder of hundreds of Black citizens of Tulsa isn't in violation of his ban on teaching what he calls Critical Race Theory.

In February, Walters questioned if students should attend Oklahoma colleges because of the ideologies they may encounter on campus.
