Surah An-Naziat, also known as "The Those Who Drag Forth" or "The Angels Who Tear Out," is the 79th chapter of the Quran. It consists of 46 verses and is categorised as a Meccan Surah, meaning it was revealed in Mecca during the early period of Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) prophethood.

The Surah begins with a description of the angels who forcefully and swiftly take away the souls of the disbelievers at the time of their death, emphasising the certainty of the Day of Judgment and the accountability that awaits every soul. It then shifts to the concept of resurrection, where the disbelievers will be questioned about their deeds and actions during their worldly life.

The Surah uses various natural phenomena and examples from the universe to highlight the power and wisdom of Allah, the Creator. It calls attention to the numerous signs in the heavens and the earth, inviting people to reflect on these signs and recognise the existence of the Almighty.

In the later part of the Surah, there is a portrayal of the scene on the Day of Judgment when the sun, moon, and stars lose their light, and the mountains are scattered like dust. The emphasis is on the absolute control of Allah over the entire universe and His ability to bring about the end of this world.

The Surah concludes with a warning to the disbelievers about the punishment they will face in the Hereafter due to their rejection of the truth and their failure to believe in Allah's signs and messengers. On the other hand, it offers encouragement and glad tidings to the righteous believers who will be rewarded with Paradise for their faith and good deeds.

Overall, Surah An-Naziat serves as a reminder of the afterlife, the Day of Judgment, and the importance of believing in the signs of Allah and living a righteous life in this world. It calls people to reflect on their existence, their purpose, and their ultimate return to their Creator.
