Описание к видео The Geologic Oddity in Oregon; Pilot Rock

In southern Oregon there is a towering monolith which rises more than 500 feet above the surrounding landscape. Known as Pilot Rock, this monolith is a truly remarkable geologic oddity, having originated during a time related to the formation of the Western Cascade Mountain Range. This video will discuss how Pilot Rock formed, and discusses whether it is the interior of an ancient volcano or a failed magmatic intrusion.
