Materials
♡ 6mm crochet hook
♡ Size 6 chunky yarn in chosen colors. You can make this in just one color if you prefer, but I used less than 1 skein of Parfait Chunky blue for the body, and I made the tentacles in pink, purple, and lavender
♡ 20 mm safety eyes
♡ Scissors
♡ Yarn needle
♡ Polyfil

Abbreviations
mr - magic ring
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
BLO -back loops only
FLO - front loops only
st - stitch
ss - slip stitch
-
Tentacles - make 6
ch 25
(2sc in the second ch from the hook, 3sc in the next) x 12 (60)
Fasten off and cut a short tail.

Head
1. 6 sc in mr
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
6. (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)
7-14. 36 sc (8 rows)
15. (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)
16. (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

Row 17 will be worked into the FLO of row 16. Mark the BLO of row 16 for later.

17. sc in the FLO of the first st, skip the next st, 5 dc into the FLO next st, skip the next st and repeat x 5.

You should have 6 shell stitches at the end of the row. Slip stitch to the first sc and ch 1.

Place safety eyes between rows 10 and 11, about 5-6 sts apart. You can begin to lightly stuff the head.

Row 18 will be worked into the BLO of row 16.

18. sc in the BLO of row 16 (24)
19. (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
-
Attaching the tentacles
We’re going to be tying the ends of our tentacles to row 19. Push your hook under a stitch from the inside going out and pull one tail through. Push your hook through the next st and pull the other tail through. Now tie 3 knots to secure the tentacle.
The tentacle should sit on the outside of the body while the tails are on the inside. Hide the tails inside the head, skip 1-2 stiches and repeat until all the tentacles are attached.
-
Head (continued)
Continue to stuff the head as you close it up.
20. (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
21. 6 dec (6)
Fasten off and close the hole.
-
If you’d like to make jellyfish that are larger or smaller, make sure your stitch count after your last row of increasing is divisible by 4 so that the shell stitches on the bottom of the head are evenly spaced.
