CommaFeed [1] (GitHub [2]) was my refuge before Google Reader got axed by Google last year [3].

It's free and open source and very much like Google Reader in terms of keyboard controls. [?] to get the list (0:20). It has apps for Android, extensions for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. Also feeds for subscriptions, say for desktop notifiers. Support many languages (1:50), has REST API. Category (1:00), OPML import (1:05)/export, staring.

It's really just like Google Reader for essential functionality, but with a different name.

Force refresh (1:15), mark all or certain period of time (1:20), check only unread or all (1:25), sorting orders (1:30), title only view or expanded view (1:35), settings (1:50), themes with custom CSS (1:55), and profile.

I didn't show you the profile because it will reveal my API key and I do not want to regenerate it. In profile page, you can change email, password, generate new API key, or export to OPML.

It's been around for more than a year, its first commit 7b3c53f was on 2013-03-20. I've been using it since last late May, so glad someone is still putting efforts to it and make it available for free.
