west bengal weather forecast of 12/05/2022 to 15/05/2022

In view of this forecast, the IMD has issued a red warning over Gangetic West Bengal on Wednesday and Thursday, and over Jharkhand just for Thursday. The advisory urges residents to ‘take action’ in order to keep themselves safe from the rough weather.

Within West Bengal, the IMD’s regional met centre in Kolkata has indicated a strong likelihood of heavy to very heavy falls over the districts of Nadia, North & South 24 Parganas, East & West Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly and East Burdwan on Wednesday, while heavy showers may occur over Murshidabad, Jhargram, Purulia, Birbhum, Bankura and West Burdwan.

On Thursday, the districts of Birbhum, East & West Burdwan, Howrah, Hooghly and North 24 Parganas could witness heavy to very heavy rains, while South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad, East & West Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia and Bankura may be in for heavy rainfall.

The district of Kolkata, which houses the state capital, is also expected to receive heavy rains during this 48-hour period.
