If you're coming from CM10, you probably need to upgrade the HBOOT...
first you find out what HBOOT your device supports: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt...
and at the bottom is says how to upgrade your HBOOT... (your SD card can get wiped from upgrading (mine did) so BACK IT UP!)

I came from CM10 but to keep all my settings, I did a Nandroid Backup in recovery, backed up the sd card, upgraded HBOOT, restored my SD card, restored my backup, flashed new boot.img and then flashed new ROM on top without doing a wipe... My phone is flawless with all my old settings :) although this may not work for you, try it...
