Watch my bus journey from Mahabaleshwar to Mumbai by Mahrashtra's longest Ghat i.e. Ambenali Ghat. This ghat is approximately 22 kms long. There are two ways to go to Mahabaleshwar, one is via Pune, Vai Panchgani and the second is via old NH 66 route. The old route takes more time as the roads are not as good as via Pune one. The view from Ambenali ghat is really beautiful and you can see the western ghats while descending. The bus journey takes approx. 7 hours. My bus was 9 am bus from Mahabaleshwar bus stand and scheduled to reach Mumbai Central by 3:45 pm. However, my bus arrived at 9:15 am and left by 9:30 am. We reached Mumbai Central by 4:45. The bus fare is Rs. 480 and distance is approximately 240 Kms. You also have MSRTC Sleeper bus on this route which goes via Pune. You can check for bus timings via the MSRTC app.
