The Chinese government organised a media tour on October 14, 2020, that took journalists to Lhasa, the capital of China’s Tibet autonomous region and one of the most politically sensitive areas in the country. The vast, rugged area in China’s far west has once again become a flashpoint in US-China relations after Washington recently appointed an official to oversee human rights issues and US policy on Tibet.
