Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was an important leader of Indian independence movement. This Biography profiles his childhood, life, achievements and death. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the very name evokes a sense of unyielding patriotism and indomitable spirit in the annals of Indian history.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23rd of January 1897 to Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Dutt. He was an Indian nationalist in the era of British colonialism in India whose defiant patriotism and immovable nerve and bravery made him a national hero whose praises are still sung with pride by every Indian citizen. In 1920 he passed the civil service examination. But he resigned his candidacy and hurried back to India after hearing of the nationalist turmoils in India. Subhas' devotion and zeal to make the country free from the colonial rule were comparable to none and he lived and died working towards the goal of independent India.
Subhas Chandra Bose is popularly known by the name 'Netaji.
Subhash Chandra Bose proclaimed, "You give me blood, and I will give you freedom", which was contradictory to Mahatma Gandhi's formula of dovish resistance. Subhash Chandra Bose was elected the president of the Indian National Congress in 1938. Due to the political variances, Subhash Chandra Bose resigned from the post of President of INC and founded the Forward Bloc on May 3, 1939, in Bengal. During World War II, Bose formed the Indian National Army (INA) with the help of the Japanese, and attempted to overthrow British rule in India through an armed rebellion.
However, the rebellion was unsuccessful and Bose was arrested by the British.
In 1943, Bose left Germany and travelled to Japan, where he formed the Azad Hind Government (Provisional Government of Free India) and declared war against the British. He also formed the Indian National Army (INA) which fought alongside the Japanese in the Burma campaign. In August 1945, Bose was killed in a plane crash in Taiwan. The exact circumstances of his death are still shrouded in mystery and controversy.

नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस एक भारतीय nationalist थे जिनकी भारत के प्रति देशभक्ति ने अनेक भारतीयों के दिलों में गहरी छाप छोड़ी है। उन्हें 'आजाद हिंद फौज' के संस्थापक के रूप में जाना जाता है और उनका प्रसिद्ध नारा था 'तुम मुझे खून दो, मैं तुम्हें आजादी दूंगा'। वह एक सशक्त और प्रभावशाली freedom fighter थे जिन्होंने भारत को ब्रिटिश शासन से मुक्त कराने के लिए अपना पूरा जीवन बलिदान कर दिया।
नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस का जन्म 1897 में कटक, ओडिशा में हुआ था। उनके पिता, जानकीनाथ, एक स्व-निर्मित वकील थे, जो ब्रिटिश सरकार में कार्यरत थे।
