Описание к видео When chiropractors spread misinformation with research they didn’t ACTUALLY READ…

I get A LOT of hate from chiropractors & PT’s every day for calling out misinformation. Comments, DM’s, voice messages, emails… they’re nothing if not persistent!

Honestly I’m not complaining; I’m 100% cool with it & I fully understand that it comes with the territory. I bring it on myself.

It is a little odd when it gets personal though. I can’t tell you how often I share data or criticize misinformation & the response I get has nothing to do with the info & everything to do with how dumb/ignorant/arrogant I am.

That doesn’t make sense to me. Like, if I’m sharing research that says cracky backy failed to outperform a sham treatment… I’m not insulting people who use cracky backy to treat patients. I’m just sharing what the data said.

The data isn’t insulting people either… it just is what it is.

People get defensive about their personal experience & anecdotes… but we really gotta try & understand how many variables can skew those perceptions. We can’t trust that shit. They’re good for generating research questions; they’re not good as a basis for clinical decisions.

Even something as simple as colic in this video… if you are using cracky backy to treat babies with colic but you don’t know that colic is a transient issue… think about how easy it would be to fool yourself into thinking your treatments are working!! Especially when the parents are singing your praises because they’re perceiving you as the savior to their distress.

When you treat a lot of transient issues & assume their resolution means your treatment worked… that’s like trying to make a baby laugh & assuming it means you’re hilarious when he starts to giggle…

You were going to win either way; babies laugh at everything & transient problems resolve in spite of us.

Always remember to ACTUALLY READ a study before citing it.
