Learn how to defeat the kingdom of darkness with the Word of God. In this sermon, Pastor Paula White discussed spiritual warfare and the importance of being educated and intentional in overcoming evil. She mentioned the two kingdoms, the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light, and explained the names of Satan. She highlighted the power of praise and the four most powerful weapons for overcoming the kingdom of darkness: the word of God, the name of God in the name of Jesus, the blood, and prayer. Pastor White also explained how Satan seeks to take away one’s inheritance, destroy one’s life physically, and ultimately abolish the purpose of God. In contrast, Jesus is a life-giver and comes to give life and life more.
Pastor Paula White taught about the tactics Satan uses against us, such as accusing and slandering us, making claim over unrepentant sin, unforgiveness, disunity, and speaking against ourselves. She reminded us of the importance of repentance, obedience to God's Word, and appropriating the work of Christ on the cross. We should also be wary of the consequences of our decisions and be careful how we speak about ourselves. By doing these, we can live the abundant life God has for us.
Pastor Paula White discussed the tactics of the enemy. She highlighted how the enemy uses accusation and deception to manipulate believers into believing lies contrary to scripture. She shared her own story of how she was tempted to take up a contract that would have taken her away from the church she was called to pastor. She warned against underestimating the enemy and encouraged believers to pray every day to be exonerated from sin and guilt through the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
Pastor Paula White explains how the enemy uses four tactics in order to hinder us from God's purpose. These tactics are accusation, deception, temptation, and hindrance. The enemy accuses us of sin, deceives us with false promises, tempts us to do evil, and hinders our progress. However, Pastor White encourages us to draw near to God even when faced with these hindrances, and to trust God’s promise of provision and purpose.
Pastor Paula White spoke about the hindrances and triggers that can be found in life, and how these can make an individual feel as if they have hit a brick wall and become numb. She likened this to the Israelites in the Bible, who were slaves in Egypt and had to cross the Red Sea to get to the promised land, but were hindered and traumatized by the sound of Pharaoh's army. She reminded us that the victory over Satan was already won by Jesus Christ, and that their job was to make it through the hindrances and triggers, no matter how difficult, in order to fulfill God's plan, purpose, and calling. Pastor Paula also spoke about the importance of walking with a limp, meaning that one should not be ashamed of their struggles and past, but rather use them as a strength to help others who are going through similar situations.
