KW, a fascinating company in its own right, created cameras that set the bar for what a 35mm camera should be by asking, and answering with exquisite design and engineering, what a 35mm camera could be. The Praktina, the earliest complete system camera, features ideas and designs that many manufacturers would not top for ten to twenty years after the camera's release. Still very serviceable today, the cameras were engineered beautifully and precisely and the lens provided exceptional quality. One of the very underrated, and too-easily-bypassed German camera companies, KW was, however, one of the best and most forward-thinking.
