In a fuel system, every component matters. This includes the fuel pump inlet size. In order to pump the proper amount of fuel, you need to be able to get it from the tank as quickly as possible. A common mistake is that folks do not use a big enough feed line for a pump which causes the pump to be limited by how much fuel it can pull from the low pressure / feed side of things on the inlet.

On the contrary, properly sizing the inlet size can allow you to maximize the pump's capabilities!
