I apologize for the shaky cam, I have tremors like an elderly person, though I am only 30. Haha! Also I jump scare easily, you may see me jump back when the t's move occasionally!

This is my Pinkfoot Goliath Birdeater Tarantula (Theraphosa Apophysis), who is surprisingly speedy for how large he is. My friend bred these and gave me one of the males as a gift tho I am not sure it is a male as when it was given to me it was still quite young!

This nocturnal new world terrestrial is one of the largest tarantula species in the world! They grow 9-12 inches as adults. They can be skittish & defensive. Their defense mechanisms includes; kicking level 3 urticating hair (the longest type, it embeds deeper into skin), threat posturing, stridulation (hissing), & biting if provoked enough! Their fangs are about an inch long, but their venom is compared to that of a wasp.
