This video documents how I got P1217 (engine overheating) condition and some learning experiences I had to go through in resolving the problem.

Engine overheating is one of the quickest way to kill the engine. Do not take coolant level or condition lightly.

Some lessons learned from this experience:
1. Coolant reservoir doesn't always reflect the coolant level in the radiator.
2. Periodically check the condition of coolant hoses and clamps, especially before taking a long trip.
3. If you drain and refill, even if you warm up the car, the heat may not come on until you actually drive the car for few minutes.
4. Realize that visual inspection of coolant fluid condition can be misleading.
