So the usual first part of this video got gobbled up by my inability to use my cloud saves correctly after linking them to my new phone... lesson learned.
These new reinforcements for the Minimoto clan from GCT Studios' Bushido line were supposed to have been released at Salute this year... but that obviously didn't happen.
We won't argue over the veracity of "Leo" and "Niko" being authentic samurai names, but we'll let that go for now, seeing as they're both armed with big massive metal clubs! Both members of the Minimoto clan they make welcome additions to the Bushido range as heavily armored samurai troops!
Despite the fact that Niko immediately makes me think of "Femme Fatale" by the Velvet Underground, I really dig his model. Bulky armor, fancy headdress, and a big metal stick to smack his opponents up with. I could say the same for his buddy Leo, but he's too busy chilling on the ground enjoying amoment of leisure. This seems to be a reoccurring theme with the Minimoto clan more than any other faction in Bushido- they've got quite a few models just shooting the breeze and hanging around, rather than wading knee- deep through the corpses of their opponents like some factions seem ready to do.
Regardless of the amount of action or inaction the models are in the process of demonstrating, they're great looking samurai and nicely cast models to boot. Cleanup and construction was simple enough that I could easily recommend them to the board gamers who aren't afraid of a bit of super glue now and then- I think they'd make excellent choices for hero models in games of Shadows of Brimstone (or your skirmish games of choice).
They're available directly from GCT for the time being, as they are still considered early release models, but should hopefully find their way into regular distribution channels in the future!
