This is a plum blossom, which looks like cherry blossom. In terms of crochet, it is the same. Even the actual flower look quite the same. Plum blossom is used in most Chinese household during Chinese New Year while cherry blossom is from Japan.

The smaller flower I made using lace yarn which makes it look more realistic, but for tutorial sake, I used cotton yarn instead and the flower appear much bigger.
